Trees help the planet:

Congratulations!
By Planting a Tree in Coir, You Are Taking a Big Step Toward Creating a Healthier Planet.

  • By absorbing CO2(Carbon Dioxide), trees help reduce “greenhouse gases” which cause Global Warming. In one year, a single tree can absorb as much carbon as is produced by a car driven 26,000 miles.
  • Trees produce oxygen – 2 mature trees provide enough oxygen for a family of four.
  • Trees shade, cooling the air around them and the Earth's temperature.
  • Well placed trees shade and protect, helping to cut costs & consumption by decreasing air conditioning by 10-15% & reducing heating as much as 4-22%.
  • Roots absorb water run-off pollutants before the water reaches streams & lakes.

Coir helps the planet too!

  • Coir (pronounced “koi-er”), is the spent rind of a coconut, is sustainable & can be refined to produce a highly effective peat-moss replacement.
  • Coir works like thousands of mini natural sponges to absorb water and release it to plants as they need it.
  • Coir retains more water than other planting media, significantly reducing watering requirements you water less.
  • Coir is 100% organic and pH neutral. www.plantbest.com/healthyplanettree

“Introducing children to the idea that a seed planted might one day become a tree that will help the health of the planet is a very important concept. The Healthy Planet Kit makes it easier for them to understand this idea and get the hands-on experience of growing a plant.”

Instructions

  1. Unwrap and place Quickstart Pot on tray or plate.
  2. Discard package in recycling bin – it's completely biodegradeable.
  3. Place the QuickStart seed starting pellet (round disc) at the bottom of the pot.
  4. Add water to pot and watch as the seed starting pellet expands fully. Pots should leak water.
  5. Take 2-4 seeds & push gently into center of seed starting mix.
  6. Place tray or plate in sunny area, such as windowsill.
  7. Water as needed. The seed may take 3 to 12 weeks to sprout depending on the season. Be patient! You are growing a tree to last many generations.
  8. When roots begin to extend through pot walls, replant entire coir pot into a bigger pot with coir based plant soil. Continue to water as needed.
  9. Choose your planting location with enough room for the tree to grow to full size. Check the growth space requirements for your tree at www.plantbest.com/healthyplanettree.
  10. When sprouts appear wait about a week and if you have more than one sprout showing, water to loosen the coir and gently separate the sprouts leaving one sprout in the pot. Place tray back in the sun, watering as needed.
  11. When the sprout is 5-7 inches tall, plant the sprout complete with pot coir/soil mixture outdoors in soil. Your sprout will grow very slowly for the first couple of years.
  12. Let us know where you planted your tree. Register it at www.plantbest.com/healthyplanettree
  13. Ask a neighbor, friend, farmer or your City's Parks Department if you can plant a tree in their space.
Message from PlantBest President Like you, I struggle with what more I can do to TM reduce global warming. At PlantBest we already manufacture coconut-based gardening products that replace the use of peat, use solar energy and where we can,
    choose manual labor over machines.
I drive a Hybrid. Not enough! One of my missions is to plant more trees. You're making a difference by planting this tree. Imagine the huge difference as millions participate. On behalf of all living things - thank you.
